Unblock Your Blessings
As a ”young” Christian I learned that “it is better to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). I misunderstood that to mean I should help others but not accept help from others. I added “pride” to my misunderstanding and was too embarrassed to accept help feeling that my need for help was evidence of my failure to take care of myself. I was so intent on not receiving help that my friends and family called me ”fiercely independent”. And I suffered…needlessly suffered when all I had to do was say…thank you, I accept your help. Misapplied pride and a misunderstanding of scripture can steal your joy! The devil is such a liar!
Ask for help (Hebrews 4:16), accept it when it is given and give it when it is needed (2 Corinthians 8:14).
Chronic Self Sufficiency blocks your blessings!
God can use us to help and support one another. The answer to our prayers may not be a miraculous wave of God’s almighty hand but instead may be the very subtle Godly direction to someone, known or unknown to you, to bring or offer the very help you need. Allow God to bless you by allowing others to help you when you are in need. Each of us can be an instrument of God’s peace… Each of us can be God’s blessing to one another.
Pray first, then take action, then pray on the action taken. It’s the perfect prayer sandwich to feed your faith and keep your blessings flowing.
